I was on here previously when I was open to dating at the time, had a really bad experience. I fully invested in a 6 month long-distance relationship and we met in person. It wasn't a nice experience to put it mildly when we met in person...Just be careful with online dating. People aren't always what they seem to be. It's better to date the old skool way- meeting through mutual friends, other people, through the same scene etc. |

Men around my age want someone 20-25 years younger and are just not interested in someone of a similar age, whilst I got continually hit on by guys 15-25 years younger, which was not what I was looking for. Also lots of people sending messages , asking questions, then never even bothering to open up the message if you replied, or talking for weeks then suddenly ghosting you.... I think the chance of meeting someone is very slim, especially if you come from a country other than the UK or the US where most of the people on here are from. |

Other than I wish more people into alt subcultures new about it (I think I found this website accidentally and I can't even remember how, but it certainly wasn't because it's very well-known). I like the customizability of it. Not least when compared to other dating apps where it feels like you're being forced into a normie box and you have to SWIPE (๐คข๐คฎ) through profiles of people that you mostly don't have much in common with just to talk to someone that you like. |

There's something so beautifully classic about being young and part of the DIY music scene, the era where you're still super excited. @noctulius oh no I haven't been ghosted, but I could see it happening here, because of people being such poor communicators & having issues etc... I'm sorry, your experience sucks. I never made it out to meet my overseas flings. Which is probably a good thing. Oh yes, I dated a guy briefly in my early 30's that had untreated BPD & he did so many messed up things, in those few months. That can be a really chaotic disorder, if untreated. Thankfully I left that situation pretty quick smart. |

So far, I would say it has been a mixed bag. Sometimes, I would get a plethora of people viewing me with very few to none ever shooting a message my way, and then the next moment it's radio silence. This doesn't necessarily bother me as I have no real expectations with these types of websites, but I do remember having a few ongoing interactions the last time I was on here. Other than that, it's just the usual "is this person real or a bot" gur feeling due to the aforementioned interactions followed by nothing. (ex. I've sent a message and friend request to someone; they viewed my message and never replied yet accepted the friend request :/ ) |

No double standards here. Age gaps aren't grooming to me when the younger person is mid twenties and up. Mid twenties is when the brain is fully developed. But people in their teens aren't as empowered in the relationship and are easily manipulated and I find many older folks prey on them specifically for that naivety. I speak from personal experience as someone who did at one time date an older man when I wasn't even old enough to go to bars, and when I advocated for better treatment (like not having him date others while dating me) I was told often that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I was immature, etc.and because I didn't have much dating history, especially not with an adult yet, I questioned my own perceptions. |
