OP rum, woodstock gold or blue label, Belvedere vodka.

Of the three, probably Wild Turkey. I used to like Jack before I knew what good whiskey is, and I’ve never liked scotch.

Recently came into a bottle of Blanton’s and so far I’m surprised I didn’t remember it being this underwhelming. Eagle Rare has probably been the best bang for the buck of all the better whiskeys I’ve had recently.

Down and dirty, John Daniel's..."when you've known him as long as I have...." Haha.

A very distant second would be Wild Turkey 101.

Definitely Wesley Snipes. His performance in US Marshals is one of the greatest gifts to cinema-going audiences in the long and winding history of major motion pictures. What an absolutely brilliant and inspiring actor.

If gentlemen jack is an option, then Jack. Not a big fan of Johnny Walker, as I don't like scotch. I'd prefer makers though

Gentleman Jack was a nice pour back when I was still drinking Jack Daniel’s. Tasted way more like regular whiskey, very mellow and smooth compared to Old No. 7, and surprisingly smoother than JD Single Barrel too. That was before they began to diversify their lineup like every other distillery has in the past 10 years to satisfy the uncultured tastes of tech bros who want something expensive on the shelf but have no idea what good whiskey is.

I mean the fact that I used to get Elmer T. Lee for $30 all day 15 years ago and now it’s anywhere between $100 and $200 is fücking asinine.

I took a trip to Ireland over the summer and developed a taste for whisky. I like Powers and Jameson. I never liked Jack Daniels to be honest but the Irish love it from what I have observed. I opted for cheap liquor like Banana 99 or Aristocrat vodka. My freshman year and still to this day we make a concoction we dubbed "Hulk Piss" Its 99, cheap vodka, mtn dew and redbull. Straight Blackout Juice. On a different note a very close friend has promised to sacrifice his 12 year old Rip Van Winkle for my graduation and I am beyond psyched for that.

"Hulk piss" lmfao sounds like a good craic.

Rum for nights out, but there is nothing like an Amaretto in a milkshake or hot chocolate depending on the season.

Yooo. We had the same drink at my school but called it "the force" instead of hulk piss. Lmao

I can see why that would be dangerous shït, you can’t taste the liquor. Thank Christ I don’t drink like that anymore. The older and better I get, the more I appreciate tasting what’s in my drinks.

People, when I was younger I used to make concoctions if alchohol with various barbiturates.I am lucky to be alive. c**ktails are heavy duty and not to be abused.

Wild Turkey was the first drink I had when I went to the bar for the first time, it's been a go-to of mine ever since. I do like me some Jack occasionally.

Folks, there are better options in this price point. Buffalo Trace is $30 - $35 and is fantastic straight or in any c**ktail you can think of. Elijah Craig and Old Forester are also great options for less than $40.

I really do challenge you to broaden your horizons in this area. I would not steer you wrong, for like Tyrion Lannister, the two activities I am best at are drinking and knowing things.

Fawkin none of those... this is coming from a seasoned, sober veteran (of the booze)...

Templeton Rye, Bullet, or Maker's. I quite the whiskey though because the hangovers were horrendous. I went to Kettle one or Grey Goose after that.

Bulleit was what I switched to immediately after realizing there were better things than Jack, and it was my go-to for a long time. Now it’s Buffalo Trace at right around the same price point. Templeton Rye is also decent, I would agree.

As an aside, if you’re able to get your hands on any of the local Colorado whiskeys (no, not fücking Tin Cup), I would definitely go after Leopold Bros. Small Batch, Stranahan’s Blue Peak, 10th Mountain Rye, and Laws Four Grain Bourbon. In addition to being a craft beer Mecca the past 15-20 years, there have been several very good distilleries making great stuff here as well.

I am a simple man, JD, down and dirty as one can get.
