Gene Loves Jezebel are a gothic rock band founded in the United Kingdom in the early 1980s by identical twin brothers, Jay Aston (born John Peter Aston) and Michael Aston. They scored a string of hits, with the singles "Desire," (1986) "Jealous" (1990) and "Break The Chain" (1993) being perhaps their better-known songs, though none of these songs feature Michael Aston.
After a series of protracted lawsuits, each of the Aston brothers now leads a different version of Gene Loves Jezebel. Jay Aston still plays with longtime band members James Stevenson, Peter Rizzo, Chris Bell and Robert Adams. Michael Aston doesn't have a consistent line up.
