I work for myself, running my own business from home. I have a daughter, and share custody.
Now that's out of the way, the more interesting stuff: I'm into, in no particular order, the three 'M's' - motorcycles, martial arts, and metal. OK, obviously that's not everything, but it'll do for a start, to give you an idea. I read a lot, I listen to music, and I'm attempting to learn how to use a sword (or at least I was before the apocalypse hit us). I'm currently spending my apocalypse attempting to learn German and the piano. Or even German piano - Rammstein's 'Sonne' is one of the pieces I've been practicing. And Mozart....
Favourite bands? Rammstein, old-school Metallica, Slayer. I'm old-school goth on occasion, so the Sisters of Mercy will get a spin as the mood demands. I listen to a lot of EBM mixes when I work - helps me concentrate and get into a groove. I also listen to a lot of doom, drone and the like. Old rockers never die - they just downtune to drop-D and make each riff last 45 minutes.... So, Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath (obviously), Shape of Despair, Bongripper, Belzebong, and a bunch of other bands that have 'witch', bong', 'weed' or similar in the title. Dunno what all that's about......
Stuff I like? Small gigs, conversation over coffee or a drink, exploring castles and old battlefields, getting out of town and into the woods and hills, sometimes on a pandemonium machine (motorcycle), and sometimes not. Reading. Enjoying the pleasure of someone's company without actually having to talk to them. Comics, Comic-cons, general geek culture. I've been known to roll a 20-sided dice occasionally, too. Martial arts, working out.
Body-wise, I'm nudging 6'3", and the best one-word description of me is probably 'burly'. I try to keep myself in shape, but I'm slowly starting to lose the waistline war. Hey, I'm 48 - whaddya want from me?
My magnificent mane of hair is long gone, so these days I keep it shaved. I tend to have a bit of a 'resting psychopath face', but I'm really pretty soft.What do I value? Knowledge, open-minded-ness, being left alone to do my own thing. Politically, I'm an unrepentant lefty, and while I'm not particularly active these days, I certainly keep up with current events and go off on the odd rant. If you're a brexiteer or a tory .... we're not going to get along.

But if I meet some cool people who turn out to be just friends with some common interests (not the benefits kind), then that's cool, too. I'd genuinely like to meet people with some common ground.

Look, if you're the sort of person who doesn't mind hanging out with a slightly socially awkward weirdo who gets very excited about various concepts, ideas, and specialist subjects, and sometimes doesn't know when to shut up about them unless given a heavy hint, then we'll probably get along.
