I'm not accustomed to this sort of thing, so try to bear with me.
(Disclaimer: I was raised up north, and don't have a southern accent. Sorry, but I won't respond to winks.)
I'm looking for a potentially serious relationship, but that doesn't mean I want to jump straight into one. A true connection takes time.
I'm looking for my soulmate; if such a thing does indeed exist, I intend to find her. In the end, all I really want is to find a deep emotional connection with someone, to help each other grow as people, and dedicate all I am to her happiness. I'm a realist, I think it is unwise and far too self-indulgent to succumb to the allure of finding a perfect woman. To me, the essence of life is found in its imperfections; besides, perfection is an illusion, something to strive for but never to be attained. There are many things that I'm willing to look past, so long as you have a good heart. With that said, I do however seek certain qualities that I find imperative. I value logic, creativity, honesty, integrity and compassion above most anything else. I'm hoping to find someone who's intelligent, empathetic, not afraid to be strange, with a generous dash of crazy added in for good measure. Someone with a mind of their own and isn't afraid to tell me her opinions. Preferably someone who can see the darkness; both inside themselves and the world around them, but still recognize the mysterious beauty that dwells within it. I should add that I don't equate darkness with vile and malicious intent. It would be awesome to find a woman who can laugh with me at the messed up things I find funny. In my mind, the best relationship is one where you can be weird together and all important sentiments are equally reciprocated and/or respected. Artists/Musicians are my favorite people, but it's not a deal breaker if you're not one. When it comes to physical appearance, the eyes hold the most value in my opinion. If I think your eyes are beautiful, then so will you always be to me; regardless of how old and flawed our bodies become.
I can always elaborate later, but for now I'll just list various things about myself.
I'm often reserved and cautious (introvert), I'm far more open to those I trust and care for; My sense of humor tends to be dark and twisted, sometimes perverted and often sarcastic; Agnostic Atheist, strong moral values, hopeless romantic; I love all animals, especially cats, foxes and my dog Nyla; I deeply enjoy all things science fiction, fantasy and horror, (Anime, novels, comic books, Movies/TV, cartoons, D&D, etc..) Video games are by far my favorite, although I don't play as often as I have in the past; I like other games too (Classic board games, TCG, poker, chess, sports, etc..); I have an affinity towards most art forms, I wish I was better at drawing, and literature and I have a love/hate relationship; I enjoy writing poetry and lyrics, but unfortunately haven't for quite some time; I played the drums in school; I get lost in my head sometimes; I have the heart of a philosopher (figuratively, not like in a jar at home), a deep curiosity for all sciences, and a fascination with old/ancient architecture and mythology; Music is important to me, especially metal, and I'm always up to discovering great bands I didn't know about.
Oh.. and contrary to the impression this wall of text may portray, I'm typically a quiet person. The exceptions usually being someone or something that attracts my attention.
I'll leave it at this for now, but I should mention that most importantly I'm looking for a rare and almost intangible quality that is difficult for me to explain and that has no word for it. I dont know if I will find it here, but I can hope. It's not that I'm inflexible, I just know what I'm looking for.
