Skáld, stylized as SKÁLD, is a French neofolk music group, founded in 2018. Their music is distinguished by the use of ancient instruments mixed with the singing techniques of scalds in Old Norse. The group is very influenced by Scandinavian culture and Nordic mythology. The group 's repertoire is mainly inspired by the Völuspá and the Gylfaginning, two texts present in the poetic Edda. It is a vocal project originally carried by three interpreters originating from Lorraine, specialists in the techniques of the song of the scaldes as it has been reported by the rare testimonies.
