For the Seattle-grown Rishloo, music is an adventure without a destination and the only wrong course is backwards. Commonly grouped-in with artists like Dredg, The Mars Volta, Fair to Midland and A Perfect Circle, Rishloo strives to push rock’s envelope by drawing inspiration from celebrated artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie and Pink Floyd along with more modern talent like Tori Amos, Deftones, Radiohead, to Porcupine Tree.
Having been completely independent the last 5 years and sold nearly 2,000 copies of their debut album, Terras Fames (2004) and 2000 copies of their sophomore effort, Eidolon (2007), they’ve managed to attract tens of thousands of fans from around the globe. Fully exploiting the accessibility and convenience of sites such as Last FM, Myspace, Reverb Nation and several others has fueled exponential growth for the band. In the last 6 months alone, Rishloo’s Last FM plays nearly quadrupled from 220,000 to 1,000,000 and continue to increase at a rate of 2000-5000 plays daily.
Rishloo continues to pay their dues in blood, sweat and extremely hard work as a wholly independent group touring throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada on a number of self-promoted tours. Along the way they’ve been privileged to share the stage with Papa Roach, Fair to Midland, Ashes Divide, Sevendust, Trapt, Strata and even Judas Priest. Now it’s only a matter of time until the entire world will hear the voices of Rishloo as they released Feathergun their 3rd album on Dec 5th 2010.
