Rubber Dinghy Rapids, bro!
Hi there, I'm Francesco. Somewhat androgynous presentation, arty-farty but also a bit of a dusty techie, not quite a hipster, within the asteroid belt of a planet but avoiding the gravitational pull of such. I'm not a goth, not a gamer, not a geek, not a skater, I'm an alternative, alternative perhaps or sommat like that.
I'm a fan of sparkly cute things as much as stuffy Victorian gear, crumpled 70s/80s polyester suits and ties and urbex gear. Compared to most people on here I look pretty vanilla though, probably look like I smell of Pot Pouri, but don't be fooled by my current Plentyoffish biege suburban blandness look (patented by Dulux), I'm considering how best to vandalise myself with some body art before making a decision on such, as no time like the present, which is why I've put it off for 15 years, maybe I'll have a tattoo of pot pourri. I work in video and with farmers, and I'm two shuffles away from being a civil servant. I'm trying to save for a beautiful yet dishevelled Victorian house/narrowboat or perhaps an ex-Cold War bunker or RoC post to call home. Renting also sucks as you can't keep a pet either, and I'm wanting either a cat or a tiger shark. i'm considering how best to vandalise myself with some body art before making a decision on such, as no time like the present, which is why I've put it off for 15 years, maybe I'll have a tattoo of pot pourri.
I'm pretty straight for my biology, but have dabbled in same-s*x connections every so often, except I feel rather androgynous internally, one of those gender-fluid fruit loope. So I guess my orientation is not really bi or heterosexual, more pansexual. I'm a romantic and quite grounded but I also have exhibitionist side which is funny stuff when you live in twitching net-curtain ville.
Music: Across the spectrum, a jumbled noise from 80s J-pop, vaporwave, chip-tune etc, to Japanese metal, to classical, prog-rock, weird and unsettling electronica, and devolving into industrial noise. Guest appearances by creepy 1950s pop hits, classic jazz funk and offensive punk. You suggest it, I'll play it on my electric triangle or my travel theremin.
Hobbies: Lots of urban exploration, making models of stuff (currently an abandoned asylum), drawing occasionally, editing little videos, rowing an inflatable boat, occasional cycling, learning to scuba dive badly, bit of cooking (I like wild cooking on travel stoves), occasional indoor rock climbing, hunting for Bigfoot. Not karaoke. Sewing, but I find it VERY STRESSFUL!
Films and TV: A mix of factual, horror and lots of frilly period-drama guff, interspersed with some foreign shows, occasional anime films and shows. Session 9, The Terror, Ripper Street, The Lighthouse, The Alienist, Life on Mars, Montalbano, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Better Call Saul, Mr Selfridge, Black Sails, Preacher, House of Cards, Chernobyl, Crimson Petal and the White, Django Unchanged, The Nice Guys, Titanic, A Dangerous Method, Death of Stalin, A Cure for Wellness, Black Swan, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Alan Partridge, Black Mirror, Screenwipe, Adam Curtis docs. That sort of jazz. And Deathnote, because of course.
Internetz: Well this is the new TV, so here's the channels I like: Fatpie, anything by David Firth, Red Letter Media (Plinkett!), Voxis Productions, Georg-Rockall Schmidt, Londonist, Vox, Jonathon Pie, Ralphthemoviemaker, Lindsay Ellis, Life of Boris, Bright Sun Films. I also Patreon (and I'm not proud of this) a prank channel called Killer Clowns (DM Films) which is a bit like sponsoring terrorism, but hey.
Comedy: Doug Stanhope, Jonathon Pie and other well-meaning yet cynical oddballs. Father Ted (Derry Girls seems to steal for a jokes from that show), Toast of London, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Four Lions, Brass Eye, Have I Got News For You. I like abstract and weird humour as much as dark humour and also some warmer, old-skool comedy in things like Mrs Brown's Boys and stuff like Only Fools and Horses.
