Hey I'm Joel; thanks for stopping by.
Whilst it would be great to find someone for a relationship, I am also looking to make genuine friendships as I am new to the area and don't really know anyone!
I am writing my first novel and going to get a band set up.
I love writing and reading and listen to music such as rock, alternative, grunge, folk, jazz, classical, blues, ambient, etc
- some favourites: Nirvana, Neil Young, Oasis, Bob Dylan, Alice In Chains, Stone Roses, The Beatles, Hole, Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead.
I enjoy cooking and watching one or two sports. Things I don't do but would like to get into: hiking, the theatre, possibly cycling/mountain biking and jogging too.
I've tried to get more into art, mainly pastilles and paint, and have really got into meditation which I started doing several years ago. Trying to get more into crafts too.
In recent years I've enjoyed volunteering also.
Really into comedy. Some comedies I like: Alan Partridge, The Fast Show, Father Ted, Absolutely Fabulous, Peep Show, Fawlty Towers
Books: Slaughterhouse-Five, Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket etc - I love reading but can't finish a book to save my life. I'm currently reading about five different things at the moment!
With movies I'm not against the odd hollywood blockbuster but instead usually prefer deep psychological or off-the-beaten-track cultural/indie films. Have recently been into French and Japanese cinema.
Some favourites include: The Borat film, Pulp Fiction, Battle Royale, Donnie Darko, Ningen No Joken, Saving Private Ryan, Trainspotting and Delicatessen.
Documentary films like Fahrenheit 9/11, Shoah, No Direction Home and Louis Theroux stuff. I do have a few guilty pleasures too like Indiana Jones just for old time's sake
Rarely watch tv.
Food: I tried being vegetarian for several months but it wasn't quite for me, but like to live as organically as possible. Big fan of Indian and Italian. I don't go out drinking much these days but am happy to go to the pub now and then.
Generally speaking I'm quite adventurous, ambitious and (usually) up for trying new things but at the same time am mostly laid-back and quite fond of the simpler life! I would like to meet someone that shares similar interests with some differences too and is a kind, caring and fun girl. It would be great as well to find someone who is interested in self-improvement/ethics, whether it be yoga, meditation or eco-friendliness or something along those lines! Ideally you would be intelligent too, not afraid to be different and think 'outside the box.' However none of these are prerequisites
