I'm a sweet, passionate guy that's looking for a likeminded mate ideally, but would love to start off as friends with the hope that it can grow into something more.
I'm a guitar teacher. Big music theory nerd (basically asking the question why I like what I like? Whether it's certain chords/melodies/rhythms, what can I learn from the patterns and techniques involved within the songs that I enjoy?) I find that kind of stuff really interesting. I love the bands Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Incubus, and The Black Keys. I'm huge into Tool right now. So much depth to their music and messaging within the lyrics. I also love to perform on guitar and sing for people.
I'm also an avid TV series watcher. They include: The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Barry, Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, Louie, and old 90s cartoons. I can rewatch the shows that I like ad-nauseam and not get bored. I enjoy watching analysis videos on series and movies that illuminate themes and small details that highlight connectivity within the broader scope of their plots.
I love watching live stand up comedy at small clubs ideally or on TV. The Comedy Cellar in NYC is one of my favorite places to see shows. Some of favorites include Dave Attell, Stephen Wright, Louis CK, Mark Normand, Sam Morrill, Stavros Halkias, Phil Hanley, Dave Chapelle, Maria Bamford, Joe List and Jim Gaffigan. Then there are deceased comedians that were incredible to me like Greg Giraldo, Patrice O'Neal, Norm Mcdonald, Joan Rivers, and Mitch Hedberg. I love to laugh.
Probably went overboard with the lists. By no means do you have to like any of this stuff that I'm mentioning, just so happens to be what I'm deeply passionate about.
As far as the type of person I'm looking for: I appreciate honesty, self-awareness, and a rangy sense o' humor. I get that no one's perfect though, and I need work in several aspects of life myself.
