I'm a writer and a photographer. Bipolar, but managing. Have not dated in a very long time.
I've been and done many things, some that I was very good at and some that I couldn't get my heart into at all. For the past seven years my heart has been into what I'm doing (a very extensive photography project and writing a novel). Except that I've been doing it alone. I am a fish out of water though. The community/city I've been stranded in considers me an outcast. Even after living here for 14 years, I still don't know anyone (but I do have friends in further away cities).
I collect books, visit cemeteries and sit in cafes working on my novel. I need exposure to nature to thrive. I've lost 40 lbs this past year and am working on losing about 20 more. I like eclectic and discordant sounding music. Gone With The Wind is my favorite book, though I'm huge fans of Clive Barker and Francesca Lia Block.
I need to move to Portland. I visited there in February and felt more at home and complete than I've felt since I lived in Santa Cruz back in the 90s. I was an anthropology major in college and would love to get a masters in Library Science. Oh, and I'm a rather intense and emotional taphophile.
I am extremely slow moving when it comes to getting to know me, yet once you've entered my comfort zone, I'll wanna do things with you (practically) every day. I've been more of a loner this lifetime than a socialite, so I understand and appreciate the need for space.
