The Hiram Key is a Gothic rock band formed in London in 2008 by Gary Clarke ex-lead singer of Nosferatu (band) and founder member and vocalist of The Cureheads. The band is made up of musicians from other notable gothic bands[1] and has been referred to in the gothic mainstream press as 'A gothic supergroup (of sorts)'.[2] The band is influenced heavily by freemasonry.[3] The name was taken from the book of the same title The Hiram Key by Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas. The Hiram Key have toured internationally in Europe with Ikon (band) and in The USA with Strap on Halo and Sapphire Rebellion and opened for Ikon & Girls Under Glass at WGT in 2011. [4] The band's first full album release was called Amerikafka and self released on April 1st 2011. It sold out of its first pressing in one month and received promising reviews in the mainstream 'Gothic press'. [5] [6] [7] [8] Following the performance at WGT 2011 The Hiram key signed to Echozone & Sony to re-release Amerikafka (with 3 new tracks) in October 2011 and a second new album in Feb 2012. [9]
