Ancient Bards’ first official album release, The Alliance Of The Kings (Limb Music, 2010), began the epic saga of the Black Crystal Sword, written by keyboardist and composer Daniele Mazza. This record was an unexpected success, it was ranked by some of the major webzines and magazine best album and best power metal debut of 2010.

With Soulless Child (Limb Music, 2011), second official release, the saga continued in a more dramatic and dark form, exciting new and old fans around the world, that got intrigued by the music as well as by the history, which became more intricate and mysterious. Once again, the album reached the top positions of the major webzines and magazine charts as the best power metal album of 2011.

Meanwhile the band’s live experience solidified for they participated in various festivals, and played as opening act to bands like Turisas, Korpiklaani, Monegarm, Over the Rainbow, Eluveitie Heidevolk,etc.

In 2012 has been released the videoclip of Through My Veins recorded at Gods of Folk festival.

In 2013 Sara Squadrani collaborated with Arjen Anthony Lucassen singing for his new Ayreon album The Theory Of Everything (out in November 2013), together with great names like : Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Tommy Karevik (Kamelot, Seventh Wonder), Marko Hietala (Nightwish), John Wetton (Asia, King Crimson),"JB" Christoffersson (Grand Magus), Rick Wakeman (Yes), Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Steve Hackett (Genesis) and Troy Donockley (Bad Shepherds, Nightwish).

On August 2013 started the recordings for the new album

On October 2013, after the recording session of the new album, Fabio Balducci has decided to leave the band due to personal reason.

On November 2013 Fabio Lione from Rhapsody of Fire, sang on Ancient Bards’ song.

At the end of 2013 the new album is completed!

2014: A New Dawn Ending is the title of Ancient Bards’ new album, which gives conclusion to the first part of the saga, that began in 2010. The sound, now more aggressive and more epic at the same time, is the backbone of this last chapter along with the wonderful voice of Sara, a combination that manages to transport the listener directly into the story .
