I don't scam people. One guy I dated here years ago got very wierd phone calls from scammers and he warned me about them. Then he one day got threats and he was so scared that he didn't get in touch with me, which really saddened me as I recall. Losing him was a hugely upsetting matter to me and it took me a couple of months to overcome it emotionally, as I really fell in love with him. Then I met up with him recently after 3 years of no contact, by chance at a venue. I thought I recognised him. It took him a while to recognise me. I wasn't sure if he was aware and not tipsy so I pretended to be somebody else as I thought he was a bit drunk and was not sure if he was 'here and aware'. As we sat down he said that he was allright and not drunk. I confessed my actual name and background as I felt guilty pretending. My conscious was not at ease with hiding. I said to him that sometimes I tell people who I am when they are tipsy and then mid way on conversation they forget due to being drunk. I asked him to pardon me. He did. I tried to explain that we met before but the venue was very loud. I don't know if he heard me.
He gave me his number and as he tried to call me his face showed on screen. I was amazed to see the same number and face appearing on screen. I thought that since I changed my phone, his number may not have been there.
I then recalled why he wasn't in touch with me. Some scammers called him and scared him a lot. It is not a way to treat someone. Because of that he couldn't get in touch with me. He was so frightened. I later explained to him while I saw him recently that what occured years ago had NOTHING to do with me. I tried to explain that I tried to tell him that I am safe and no scammers would be around. He was too scared to listen. I hope he heard and understood me. If you are reading this I hope you are at peace with it. You know yourself. I would be happy to keep in touch with you as a friend.
Please do not get into scamming, or reply to scammers. Being kind and open is far more satisfying.
I am so very glad that I met the afore mentioned 'ex-date' and that I made it clear to him that am innocent and had nothing to do with it. Hope he got it.
