I'm a lifelong traveler who's lived in 6 countries and explored most of the world. I pick up bits of culture like souvenirs - the way people argue over markets, how different languages express the same idea, why some places put mayonnaise on fries while others think that's insane. You'll often find me talking to myself in random languages while cooking (which I love doing from scratch - if humans can eat it, I've probably tried making it).
Sleep doesn't happen without white noise because pure silence feels weirdly aggressive. My perfect Sunday involves a movie marathon (probably Interstellar or something weird like Poor Things), roasting something delicious, and browsing flight deals for future adventures.
I geek out about etymology across languages, obscure history (especially Central Asian empires or pre-Columbian America), and the tech behind everyday things. Travel taught me that the "British way" isn't the only way - but also that it's okay to appreciate what your own culture does well. My biggest food pet peeve? "Adapted" dishes that lose their soul - looking at you, carbonara with cream.
Little things I love: that first cold beer on a hot day, the smell of garlic that instantly takes me to Mediterranean summers, and the Portuguese phrase for toes ("dedos de pé" - literally "foot fingers", which makes perfect sense).
Someone with an open mind who enjoys learning new things and doesn't take life too seriously. Bonus if you can appreciate my niche history rants and won't judge my kitchen experiments (I'll try eating anything once). Sense of humor required - small talk may not be my strong suit, but I'll happily debate why that "authentic" pizza isn't actually authentic.
