I'm new here (Dec 2024), I discovered this site after somehow missing it in previous alt social network searches. I'm a VampireFreaks alumni, say hi if you were there! It's been difficult to find a remotely active alternative social network, hopefully I can make some connections here? I don't plan on using this site as a dating site despite that being the initial purpose, I am more interested in chatting about things with people whom I'm more likely to have things in common with.
Through my teen years and 20's, I was very much in the emo scene, but since I hit 30 I've become a slightly more plain dresser (fresh white t and trainers, black jeans is my go-to look) and I stopped growing my hair long and dying it black. Growing old gracefully as they say, but the music, gigs, nightlife and mannerisms will never leave me. Two tattoos on my chest but definitely want more.
I am active physically with visits to the gym 4-5 times a week and 5k park runs on Saturdays. I like sports, mainly football, athletics, and darts. I have recently started playing darts and really enjoy it.
I've always played video games, but for roughly the last 20 years I have focused purely on Nintendo (I haven't owned another console since the PS2). I'll never know how I had time to game on more than one console! I use my Switch a fair bit. My main game is Pokemon, but I play a lot of Nintendo franchises and RPGs. Although, as another way to get away from screens as I use one for work, I also play Disney's Lorcana Trading Card Game. Yes, nerd here! I'm also a coffee fiend.
I like watching TV series, I adopted the streaming age very early and haven't watched 'regular TV' for a long time. Some of my favourite shows are:
Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Alice in Borderland, Squid Game, The Sopranos, The Wire, The Flash, The Traitors, The Bear... I'll add more when I remember more 😅 Also have a lot of sitcoms I enjoy but I usually class them as slightly different shows, maybe comfort shows?
Pop-Punk and Post Hardcore music are my life, but I like all sorts from the alt scene and even some completely different stuff like most of us! I go to a lot of gigs. I'll list some bands at some point, it looks like this site has an option for it so I'll try it there instead of here first.
