I have very eclectic taste in music but at 44, remain an ageing punk rocker at hart with the almost obligatory Black Flag ink on my arm, amongst an ever expanding collection. Politics to match.
Just moved back to the West Country (Thornbury near Bristol) after the end of a very long term relationship and 20 plus years in Liverpool, where long ago I moved to study drama and make my fortune but somehow lost my way. Nothing against the place it’s a fine City. I moved to be closer to my family (I have no kids but enjoy being appreciated as the mad uncle to my 12 year old niece and 10 year old nephew).
I am now a support worker for adults with learning difficulties and love my new job, which is rewarding. However, I do miss being around the creative types I knew up in the arts scene back in the ‘pool. So I’m looking to meet like minded folks down here in the alternative scene and maybe the Riot Grrl of my dreams to attend gigs and get into adventures with.
I love classic punk rock like Flag, Dead Kennedys and Fugazi; Love heavy rock from Sabbath to Queens of the Stone Age to Deftones but I am also obsessed with Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen. f**k it I even like a bit of hip hop and outlaw-country. Mike Patton’s the man…he mixes it all up!
Despite the dark and angry represented in my favourite music though, I’m a laid back kind of individual. So laid back I’m told… I’m “horizontal”! I’m loyal, trustworthy and have a heart but I’m always up for the craic!…as the Irish say!
