One of my biggest connections is with is the gothic/industrial music scene, I am hopelessly spoiled in terms of where and when I discovered this.... The very first goth club I went to was in San Francisco in 1995 and was called A Winter Gone By. It was the most welcoming place I've ever been and the ambiance was amazing. People moved as shadows in the non-light, and on stage was an angel tied down in ropes, its arms raised in supplication.... Off to the side was a collection of branches and what looked like twisted black goo – but this cast the shadow of another angel. And one person described the dancing as “poetry in motion.” I was hooked from the very first time I went there. I've danced on other side of the shadow screen ever since – a catharsis to let the dark side play and transform the negative into the positive. My standards are hopelessly high, and I will always carry this memory of the magic of the clubs of 90s with me. It was an environment set apart from the mundane, a sanctuary from the outside world. These days I am more into dark aggrotech and harsh EBM, but I am still out there.... I never stopped dancing – and I've never stopped discovering new music in the dark genres, from around the world. This is what gives me energy and keeps me going.... I will probably dance until I can't dance anymore.

Beyond the goth scene I'm into a number of different kinds of music, everything from experimental electronic to dark metal. I love outdoor music festivals, especially the overnight camping kind, and I went to something called the “Autonomous Mutant Festival,” 13 different times. For a little while, I lived with the folks who had the first sound system at Burning Man, the original “techno camp,” and I once went on tour with them in Eastern/Central Europe in an East German army truck. I once spent about a year and a half living minimally on a 28-foot sailboat in Oakland, California following a book called “Sailing the Farm.” I love to travel, and I've had many interesting adventures. I definitely consider myself a bit unconventional, and an out-of-the-box thinker.

My currently biggest interests outside of the dark music scene are holistic health and alchemy. I went to two different 3-year herbalist schools, the first one Western clinical one, and the second one a much more special one – a school on making spagyrics (alchemical herbal extracts). My big project at the present moment is in the latter area. I currently make money in the computer software industry, but I am trying to build up a stock of spagyrics and get some kind of herbalist business off the ground.

I also have some knowledge of holistic nutrition, and I love cooking (I eat mostly Paleo and organic.) I have one side that loves urban life – I love walkable neighborhoods and love exploring restaurants, bars, cafés, and the arts. (I currently live 3 block from the RiNo Arts District in Denver, a place with all of that, and before the pandemic, I had fixed up an old Victorian house, where I was renting out a couple rooms on Airbnb.) My other side is the exactly opposite and loves the wilderness. I love getting out in nature and hiking up in the mountains, and I always try to keep these two things in balance. Some of my other interests include sci-fi, futurism, politics, philosophy, economics, liqueur-making, other DIY pursuits, survivalism, intentional community, and sustainable living.

I have pretty libertarian values, and I lean towards polyamory/ethical non-monogamy (these days I gravitate most towards relationship anarchy), though I might be open to monogamy with the right person, who I matched up with in most other ways.

After the panemdic is over, I may want to make a move to someplace less expensive, where I can grow plants year-round (like the Tampa Bay Area), or perhaps out of the country - I have been considering Buenos Aires. Many things are up in the air right now.

I am open to all types of connections with people in all places, as we cannot see each other face to face right now anyway. What I'm really looking for is a like-mind individual with a similar a curiosity and appetite for adventure; someone with a healthy outlook outlook on life; someone whose strengths complement my own.
