Country boy now in the big city. I came from Somerset 25 years ago and yes, I still have an accent.
My interests are music, reading and the occasional pub quiz. I enjoy Gastropubs for good food, ale and lack of pretentiousness. I also get to a few Radio 4 comedy recordings as well. I watch little TV, but what I do watch is either documentaries, nature programmes and news. I have no interest in reality or no talent TV shows.
As I said above, I love music, mainly of the indie/alternative variety and spend a lot of time listening to it, stuff like The Pixies, The Wonderstuff, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, Low, Loop, British Sea Power, Mega City Four, The Music, Stone Roses, Mona and The Dandy Warhols to name a few. But you will also find me listening to folk, rock and blues, for example Leonard Cohen, Laura Marling, Ani DiFranco, Van Morrison and The Rolling stones. I also go to a lot of gigs as well, probably at least two a week on average. If you think shoegazing is window shopping, I do not think that we will get on!
I enjoy socialising and have a good circle of friends. I am quite chatty, but do not suffer fools gladly. I also enjoy relaxing and chilling out and love a beer garden and the Sunday papers in the Summer. I am not a great fan of endless texting or emails. I am proud to have never voted Conservative and am also what the Pope would call a militant secularist.
I am not fashionable and when it comes to clothes, the word formal passes me by. I also hate collar and ties. I am always in jeans and Converse or DMs in the winter and shorts in the summer. What you see in the photos is what you get. I think of myself as the oldest indie kid in town, but I think the best description of my image has been a skater kid! If you like a guy in chinos and a collared shirt, pass me by. I also have a shaved head because I have nothing growing on the top anymore and am not a fan of comb overs! The last time I had hair it was in dreadlocks, so hopefully you will understand the way I am.
I think that I should also say a little about the person I am looking to meet. I would like my partner to not only be an intelligent and pretty woman, I would also like her to be an individual, opinionated, not someone who only follows the crowd and thinks that soap operas and X Factor are the most important things in life. Someone who can be my best friend as well as the love of my life. That person has to be the person I want to grow old with and spend the rest of my life with. I also can quite happily live alone and do not mind my own company. I have a lot of love to give, but I am not just going to give it to anyone.
