I've just finished my undergrad in history and am taking a year off before doing an MA in the history of ideas and (hopefully) a PhD after. Right now I'm working in a specialist Belgian beer bar which is just enough to pay the bills, stay fed and still leave me enough time to myself. I like spending that time reading, gigging and - when I can - at festivals. I'm always open to new things and hope to spend some time exploring the greener parts around/near London that I've not had chance to yet.
I love history, reading and languages. I took Arabic as an elective for two years, know a little Hebrew and plan on getting some German under my belt before starting on the MA. I'm also vegan, but I don't expect other people to be.
I like a lot of metal but my music taste is pretty broad. Bruce Springsteen's my favourite artist, followed not-so-closely by Rainbow and Samsara Blues Experiment. My favourite authors are Ken Kesey, Kurt Vonnegut, Graham Greene and Thomas Pynchon.
I'm a little socially awkward until I feel really comfortable with someone, but when I really get on with a person that doesn't take long. I like in depth conversations and people with strong opinions. I'm vegan, but don't expect others to be, and keep up to date with the news and politics.
Recently I've grown a beard, cut my hair (pretty much had to) and was hit by a bus, leaving a scar over one eye.
Lately I've been feeling a little isolated and it would be great to meet some new people and go new places.
