First off, to not waste anyone's time, I'm polyamorous and partnered.
I'm looking for a new relationship and would like to do some dating in person now that things are opened up again, as I think it is really important to meet in person to see if the chemistry is there. I've not been on a date since I met my wife so I am a bit rusty but am keen
I'm willing to travel anywhere in the UK for the right person, so long as that is reciprocated. Age doesn't matter so long as we click. I'm also a bit past wanting to deal with sneaking into a house to avoid someones parents hearing so best if you have your own place!
I'm not much of a drinker, although I don't mind having a few down the pub. I'm a massive foodie though so dinner dates are great. I also just like to spend some quality time on the sofa playing records or watching something good.
Work as a Senior Software Engineer/Team Leader and own my own house.
Music is my biggest passion and I aim to make at least one album a year, rotating through genres to keep things interesting. I love a lot of different kinds of music: rock and metal, 70's prog rock, electronic music, dub, neofolk, 80's pop. A few of my favourite bands: Hawkwind, Neurosis, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rush, Depeche Mode, Coil, Current 93, Oceansize, Radiohead, The Prodigy, Bat for Lashes, Kate Bush, Future Sound Of London, Portishead.... I could go on for hours so will stop there.
I also really love films as long as they are made by filmmakers who had a vision and executed it without having to tick a load of demographic boxes for the marketing teams. Especially things with great cinematography. I've watched pretty much all of the IMDB top 100. Favourite filmmakers include Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorcese, early Francis Ford Copolla, Sergio Leone (my all time favourite is his four hour masterpiece Once Upon A Time In America) etc. I also have a fondness for extremely terrible movies, anything that might feature on Best of the Worst if anyone knows that hilarious YouTube show. Modern franchise films, superhero stuff (outside Christopher Reeves Superman) and anything that is on it's ninth sequel is right out though! I like films to be art rather than just shallow entertainment generally.
Also like all the usual suspects of UK comedy, Father Ted, IT Crowd, Black Books, Blackadder etc. I'm always wary of hype so I wait 10 years before watching a lot of TV shows - I remember when everyone said Lost was the greatest thing ever and hated it the next minute, and never watched Game of Thrones which if office conversations are anything to go by ended up the same way. But when I finally watched some of the classics like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad I really enjoyed them.
Sorry that I have waffled on for ages but I've spent the whole pandemic chatting to people for a bit and it not really going very far, so I thought I'd try and go into some depth to find people who will be right for me. If you'd like to know more send me a message or friend request, look forward to hearing from you.
