I suppose I was "goth" before it was called that. somewhere around 82- 83 maybe? I have a pretty wide taste in music but primarily I was a big fan of New Wave, early Punk and of course Bowie. The early 80s were in many ways a magical era for me I was very much a part of the alternative art and music scene around Manchester. It was also around then that I discovered I felt a sh*tload better with eyeliner than without (so worn it ever since)
Apparently according to some meme the song that was number one in the charts on your 14th birthday defines the rest of your life. Mine was Are "Friends" Electric? by Tubeway Army which featured Gary Numan. Explains the eyeliner, I suppose, plus it's a pretty cool song.
These days I'm a self-employed freelancer in graphic design, illustration, video production and editing.
all of which is created in my ever-expanding home studio.
I also perform live as a solo artist, singer/guitarist, which also sometimes involves other musicians primarily a rhythm section. This is always billed as Renegade Nation which is also the name I use for my music project.
Feel free to check out my Youtube Channel, Renegade Nation U. K. I also work as a DJ.
However all live work is on hold at the moment due to Covid
I'm a single dad to my youngest daughter I also have 2 adult daughters who have moved on,although we are all still close.
..and yep I'm a goddamn grandad or "Glamdad" as I prefer to be called.
I'm lucky enough to be financially secure, (comfortable, not loaded) so my main focus tends to be on my creative work and my family.
I'm passionate about my political beliefs having studied political history, I identify as a Democratic Socialist with a nod towards revisionist Marxism. I loathe any form of injustice, prejudice and discrimination. And openly support Antifa, BLM and LGBTQ rights.
To be honest I'm not really up on this dating site thingy, never used one before really asides from when my daughter put me up a profile on POF, some years ago (mainly to take the piss) Which I never went on anyway, having instantly forgotten my password.... Also I've gotta say...I personally hate the term "dating" as it implies that there has to be some kind of agenda, expectation and end goal. I tend to prefer to meet people without the pressure of pre-conceived expectations. Y'know, just a laugh, drink, chat finding a connection maybe, where you can be yourself without feeling like it's a bloody interview. I have plenty of acquaintances and a smaller circle of loyal friends, who despite being great people, tend to be fairly "normal" whatever that means...So I'm somewhat lacking the creative, like-minded, eccentric company at the moment. I need more weirdos(in a good way) in my life to inspire me. Especially musical creative types who "get it" if that makes sense?
Strange but true:
1) I was born in Prague, Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia at the time) and grew up in South Africa ,,as a result I speak both Czech and English, although English is my main language having been educated in English speaking S.A. schools.
2) When I was a kid I wanted to be a cosmonaut or at least maybe fly a spaceship, and have a raygun and jetpack. I thought it would be like The Jetsons by 2018, Oh well so much for that idea. plus I was too lazy to study Maths and science, so I've just settled on being a fulltime Space Cadet
