I know it's a cliche for people to write, " I'm really bad at writing these", but I feel like I really embody this.
Mainly because I think it's better to be critical of yourself on sites like this rather than complementary.
I'm not looking for mass appeal, I just want to find people I can have genuine, long-lasting, meaningful friendships with.
I have found myself surrounded by people who are either very busy with their own lives now or shallow acquaintances, which are great to do fun activities with or meet up occasionally with, but I really crave deeper connections.
About me:
I appreciate logic and reason, so I'm happy to move position when new information is provided.
I like animals, generally more than people.
They have a mixture of innocence, candor, and simplicity that is really relaxing to be around.
I don't currently have any pets as I live alone and work full time, so would seem unfair on them.
I'm also a vegetarian.
I do not worship celebrities or bands, I’m pretty sure I would dislike them all if I actually got to know them.
On a more positive note, I am rather caring and helpful to my friends.
Most people don't realise, but I'm also very affectionate and love cuddles.
I don't have a hobby that I regularly practice. I generally like doing rather random activities.
Could be axing throwing one week, playing board games the next, ice skating, playing video games on the couch, and then just walking someone's dog or getting lost in a maze.
I'm trying to get fitter again as I let it slip during lockdown, I tend to mainly exercise at home as I prefer the flexibility and lack of humans.
Books: Horror, adventure, sci-fi, real-life accounts, it is all good.
I like Stephen King and I'm a faded comic book fan.
Really liked "Velocity" by DK and "The 50/50 Killer" by Steve Mosby.
I'm often now distracted by books about space, ethics, food, and other random science-related subjects.
Films: I have quite a diverse taste in films I am happy to curl up with someone and watch a chick flick or I can enjoy a horror. I also like clever films, films that make you think. Memento, Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind, Franklyn, The Cube, Requiem for a Dream are good examples of this.
Shows: I love Dexter, way too much with Breaking Bad coming in close. I also like Death Note, Homeland, 24, The Strain, Desperate House Wives, The Walking Dead, GoT, Hannibal, Luther.
