The needle in her back
Down by the river she sat
Wind light and gray
Down by the river she lay
The breath of her body drags the sand
Pressing against the grains
Crunching of bones
A sudden piercing in her spine
Terrified she screams
Pawing at the ache
A needle in her curves
A shrill pull and panic
Pawing at the ground she found a string
Fingers raw with begging she gives up
Staggers to her feet as the needle unties her skin
She begs for help with staggers
Each step remorse
The needle unties her body, ivory trails her face
It hits her eyes and she's blind
It caresses her lips and she whispers
It pulls apart her tongue as she drowns
Collapsing on the hot day she fell close to the river
She sat there as the day begin
Along with her skin

One long forgotten
She sat alone
Her whispers rotten
The sand was thin
It crunched like snow
Her thoughts bounced inside
Pictured heads hung low
Pressing at keys
The timer ran out so fast
They never told her quick enough
The keys turned to glass
When I finally find him
I'll chain him to this tree
But he ran from her
This killed her glee
She carved in his name
Into that steel
The wall stood firm
But the paint began to peel
The shore sat empty
Time felt a waste
Sealed in the cold
Her tongue lost all taste
