Hi, I'm Clare πΏ
π Capricorn | INFP | Eccentric Artist Stereotype π
I mainly signed back up to Altscene to expand my social circle; I'm always looking to create new friendships with people who I share things in common with. I would potentially be open to something a little more, but I'm honestly in no rush and only if I met someone that I really clicked with. I'm pretty content being single right now, but I suppose it's always good to be open-minded as you never know what is waiting around the corner.
Currently, my time is split between Worcestershire and back home in North Yorkshire π€ I love living the life of a nomad and have friends all over the country: I never tend to stay in the same place for too long!
I currently work part-time as a Social Media Assistant, but also run my own environmentally focused arts business which sells handmade crystal jewellery and some of my photography work. I've recently completed a Masters in Music too; music is a huge part of my life. I'm currently the frontwoman of a doom metal band and as a solo artist, I prefer to play a lot of dark folk and classical. I work semi-professionally as a harpist; occasionally playing weddings, events and have most recently been a part of an ongoing creative project with the Coventry City of Culture project.
A few things I wholeheartedly adore are:
π€ Black and Doom Metal, as well as Dark Folk and Ambient. My favourite artists span from the likes of My Dying Bride, to Dead Can Dance and Alcest. You can see some examples of my favourite artists to the left! My life has revolved more or less solely around music for the past fifteen years. Gigs, festivals and having crazy nights out with my friends is what I live for πΆ
π€ All things fantasy and Tolkien related. Any of my friends will tell you I'm completely Tolkien obsessed! I like to imagine I live every day in Middle Earth...
π€ British Folklore and Anglo-Saxon Paganism. I have classed myself as a pagan for many years now, but have spent a lot of time searching for a particular path that suited me wholly. Whilst it is very similar to Norse mythology in parts, Anglo-Saxon spirituality is something that really hasn't been tapped into that much, but it wields something really quite beautiful and fascinating. I'm always keen to meet others who have a deeper understanding of the subject π
π€ Environmental Ethics and Nature. I LOVE nature, there is no doubt about that. Living sustainably and understanding how we as humans relate to the natural world is a subject that fascinates me. My dissertation for my Masters focused on sustainability within the music industry, which was a very interesting subject to delve into. Environmental Ethics and the Arts is what I would like to pursue as a PhD at some point in the near future π
π€ Deep Discusssions on Philosophy, Spirituality and Politics. I love to understand what makes people tick, how you see the world and perhaps most importantly - why? β¨
