I've loved punk rock since the day I was handed my very first cassette tape of MXPX singing covers to summer of 69 and Drum Machine Joy, I think it was called On The Cover. I was 14 yrs old and it was like this crazy amazing world had just opened up and it filled the gap in my teenage heart with Descendents and Lagwagon, face to face and no use for a name. Tony sly and Joey cape sang about the s**t that I was really feeling but could never put it into the beautiful words that they did. Going to shows became my hobby, my fun, my life. Listening to the band and singing like it was the last song I ever sang, sweating and being pushed forward by the mosh pit. Bad Religion songs became my battle hymns! And as long as I had them I could get through anything my s**tty teenage years could throw at me. I'm a lot older now. I've been to more shows then I can count. I love so many bands it hurts my brain when I start trying to make a list of all my favorites. I've been in the band, the gf of the band and the fan. Punk Rock got me through an insanely rough first half of my life. It made me who I am today. I don't care if you read this and you think it's lame. This s**t seriously saved my life. It made my life. Without my punk rock, my life would be the most boring lame ass life ever. To the punk rock gods who were taken from us way too soon, thank you for your lyrics, your passion and this way of life.
