So... I'm Darren, also known as Dave (goes back to school, long story)... I don't have many hobbies, my main one being the guitar. It is a great instrument to learn as there is always something new. It is relevant to so many different styles of music, and, with a little practice, anyone can play it. I am currently seeking a band and would love to gig across the country.
My goal is to become a social worker, preferably with adults, but you never quite what will happen on a degree course. I currently work as an activities assistant/carer. I really enjoy my job and I have really grown to love all of the people I care for.
What makes me unique? Difficult to answer. I guess the only person who can answer that is the person who gets to know me. I guess unlike some people, I am not in this life, or indeed in a relationship for s*x or personal gain. I am in a relationship because I have genuine feelings for the person I share it with. I am a genuine guy, and I give everything as it should be: Straight and to the point. Oh, I do swear an awful lot so I'm probably not the right guy if you don't like it.
Music makes the world go round; that is my honest opinion. There is nothing that brings out raw emotion like a song or piece of music. So it makes sense that a big part of my life, and my relationship decisions are based around it. From a person's choice of music you can tell a lot about their personality, whether through stereotypes or personal experience. I am a rocker; in that I enjoy all sorts of music with a guitar in it. If I can air guitar to it, or indeed play it, I will like it. My main artists/influences are Muse, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Gun 'n' Roses/Slash. But I also love a bit of older music from the 50's to the 90's. Not a fan of popular music but I can bear it since I have to listen to it at work.
