Edgy fashion ....and think Thierry Mugler , Pam Hogg , Westwood and McQueen , or Religion, or something from an exciting new designer or even DIY done well... is the kind of fashion I like and it is important to me. Not really into the stereotype cheap black lace alt look which is an anathema to someone who knows and works with quality fabrics. Huge fan of Helmut Newton. I am friendly with edgy designers who respect my styling ability. I also am involved with promoting burlesque and know the UK's top acts well. If you'd like to see some of my magazine tears and work for designers. or some of my paintings let me know.
I am a big fan of vintage clothing too, particularly love finding couture and iconic items, and like shopping for it, whether in London, online or at vintage events like Goodwood revival. I use pieces then in shoots. I am often also looking for models and creatives (eg Make up artists) for shoots incidentally so get in touch if you'd like to collaborate on a trade basis.
Also important to me is music. I do a pretty damn good choreography for fashion shows too so it's,related.
My favourite bands are Turkish darkwave band She Past Away, Danish punk band Iceage, Icelandic bands Singapore Sling and The Dead Skeletons, O Children, The Horrors, Bauhaus and The Sisters of Mercy. Then I also like the dark post punk psych such as the KVB, Buzz Kull, Travelling Wave, The Underground Youth, and A Place to Bury Strangers. I also love punk band The Vibrators and have been into them since a teenager! Also a fan of Messer Chups, The Cramps etc.I also love La Femme. I love ultra high fashion La Femme's irreverence mixed with punk and they are fun.
I go to the clubs Reptile and Slimelight in London regularly, and alternative gigs naturally. I also go to Torture Garden events from time to time but TG is a fashion and visual art thing for me rather than lifestyle.
Movies - my favourites are The Fall. Welcome to Dongmakgol, and Angel-A, and I also like the Dragon Tattoo movies, Bladerunner and Alien(s) and The three versions of The Thing. I also like film noir and world cinema, and German expressionist cinema. Also David Lynch and the Vengeance series by Park Chan-Wook.
I'm not young...54. But my long term girlfriend of last seven years was a 34 year old fashion model and academic. I remain good friends with her so no baggage. But I guess I'm not over the hill ha ha. But neither am I particularly interested in younger women. I like sophistication, so generally that comes in late thirties/forties. I am not into anything odd sexually. Except maybe a penchant for Agent Provocateur lingerie seamed stockings corsets long gloves etc but I think that's fairly normal to gentlemen of a certain education! But as I said I'm not looking for younger women and certainly nobody under thirty.
I don't earn a fortune but the nature of my job gives me an interesting lifestyle. It's artists garret one minute then working with Vogue models, or exhibiting at St. Moritz the next. So be nice to share that with the right person.
But there is also.more to life than just fashion and alternative music. I enjoy horse racing and am a member of the Royal Enclosure at Ascot.
I love intellectual stimulus but I dislike politics and causes. I am a free thinker, and well grounded. I am a Libertarian. So looking for someone else who is able to think outside the box, and isn't weighed down with dogma. I am too old now to be wasting time with people who are bitter and angry . So if your mindset prevents you from mixing with a wide section of society because you have prejudices against 'posh' people, meat eaters, muslims, gays whatever then I think it unlikely to work . I have a really, really wide cross section of friends including from cultures you won't ever have encountered before - for eg my sister in law is from Yakutia, and my ex a scientist who works with the Inuit, friends from the world of horse racing and high fashion, and rock music, and a lot of friends who are muslim. So I would like to meet someone open minded and able to mix with all sorts of people. So I have a lot to share, and have a social circle of an amazing mix of fabulous people, but it is not going to suit someone with issues and prejudices.
I have no tatts I am afraid. I had a racehorse in training for the same as what two good,sleeves cost ! But I don't mind them and think good ink can be attractive on a girl. .
I also love cultured pursuits such as museums, galleries, and European cities. The perfect holiday for me would be Tromso to see the auroral borealis and visit Saami reindeer herders. I embrace other cultures and am happy smoking shisha, riding camels, and meeting nomadic peoples. Generally I prefer the cold to hot climes though l love North Africa.
So yes if you love edgy fashion and music, are sophisticated, and like fun and adventures, get in touch. If you are a female version of Morrissey, think you are a witch or a vampire, think Jeremy Corbyn is the answer, or think synthetic 'Victorian' lace is at all attractive, I am not going to be for you. However if The Horrors, O Children, Bauhaus and Iceage are more up your street, you know who Pam Hogg and Thierry Mugler are, are excited by the prospect of a day at Royal Ascot or a day reindeer racing with the Sami or camel riding with the Tuareg , or a trip to the Icelandic hot springs and black sand, or to Sedlec Ossuary , a gig in Berlin or an independent film festival in Deauville , then give me a shout.
