I am a writer, novelist and freelance journalist. Horror is my genre of choice (at least for fiction work) but I enjoy fantasy. Some of my favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, George R.R. Martin, H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe, C.S. Lewis, and the list can go on. As a writer, reading is a passion of mine.
I want to teach English, not because being an English teacher is the natural occupation of writers trying to get their life going, but because, as an idealist buried beneath a cynical pessimist, I believe teachers can do good in this world. Teachers have a large impact on the lives of children they see day to day. I may even go teach English in other countries. I haven't decided yet.
My taste in music is very wide. I can listen to just about anything. Though, depending on the music, it may be a very short period of time. There are some very important bands in the musical aspect of my life, however. Bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cult, Specimen, The Cure, The CruxShadows, Bella Morte, Christian Death, The Damned, The Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and Voltaire, just to name a small number. A happy note: I'm over my terrible Lady Gaga phase... Now I'm into Lindsey Stirling.
In a nutshell, I am a passionate, idealistic, cynical pessimist with no tolerance for ignorance who believes one person can change the world because when one person thinks it, and says it's possible, others might believe it too. When we all believe that we can change the world, we all begin to change the world. I am quite a handful.
