Yeah the Goth night at #Slime is monthly now, there are #alt and #goth #daylight events as well and other events have fallen back onto Elektrowerkz like the epic Satanic Flea Market lol

We have set up a new membership system 2 years ago. This means you need to start afresh. Your old details are no longer valid. Once you start applying and pay, you;ll get a new member number and an email confirming your membership. Same email is going to have your Membership Card attached which you can use when attending Slimelight. I have not been except for a quiet pub night since before the sars2 outbreak, I am returning now because I need it in my life lol. I will be using #PPE no idea if they have air filtration in there but its a spacious venue.

Anyone want to start a casual pre slime drinks meetup or casual meetup at slime nights? No obligation to stay in a group. Just a helpful way to ease new people into the place maybe/

Its just no old membership cards apparently! - I only found out myself a day ago, just passing it on..

It has always been a mixed age scene, same as the rock scene and is inclusive of all age groups that are old enough to buy a drink in the UK.. Important to make that clear so we don't put anyone off

Next Slime Daylight Event is meant to be on December 06 2024

I totally recommend this event, the 25 August 2024 one was really like a more trad goth club, great ambience, music, vibe, very dressed up. If you are any kind of true goth then you will feel right at home here.

Remember folks this is a gothic, cis, pan, mixed sexuality, 2SLGBTQQAI+* and ***** friendly, mixed age event (mixed age like the rock and metal scenes) so you will have to be comfortable with that lol.

Y'all should get out more haha!

Only been to Slimelight once but it was pretty good and I plan on going again sometime. The atmosphere is nice there- lots of different people, different styles and ages, rooms with different kinds of music. Its pretty much everyone-friendly (respectful towards the entire goth community) , some of the toilets are unis*x, several rooms and bars but the drinks are pretty pricey

I will be giving the Oct 31st a miss and maybe got to a LAM (London Alt market) on the Sunday 3rd November, there is a LAM on the first Sunday of every month its a daytime event with a break before a clubby night. I didn't post for a while because the music policy seemed to have drifted towards bad beats and techno rave music for a couple of events which was awful for any trad goths there. However things may be going back to normal since the Dark Friday event.

The latest DJ policy updates on music seem ok and are on Facebook pages, take a look or risk coming and find out for yourselves in person lol!

Also, a wee shout out for the Satanic Flea Market which has become really huge these days. Its also in Elektrowerkz. It had more goths and alts there than a club night, I literally only had time for one walk around the several floors and oodles of stalls and it was over so have to get there earlier next time.

There is an actual Real NEW Year goth event at Reptile in London this year as well. If you don't have an advance ticket, too late its sold out. Its also the last ever Reptile (drat) as I have never been personally. Its an old established night but I have been living in another part of the country so never made it to date. details for this are on Facebook as well.

Anyhow, I will be at the NNYE event at Slimelight hopefully!

Things I was at, I went to Voodoorock, the club was ok and solved the mystery of where are the young goths are, they are here! Guessing the techno ish music and added expense of #slimes is not for them.. and I don't blame them..

Things I am giving a miss..

I am a bit off Elektrowerkz at the moment, Slimelight gravitated to techno, its over policed, too much hassle to buy a ticket and entry, unknown DJ's playing beats ffs. Its just trading on the goodwill Mak built up this is no longer an ok place imho.

The Elektrowerkz venue has become oppressive, it was more chilled when Mak was alive now the Elektrowerkz venue is about bag searches, confiscating sweets and drinks, pat downs, mandatory ID scans, mandatory face scans (YES!!!), complicated ticketing and £7 tinny or £8.00 pint or £10 cokktails or £25 bottle of wine! I would not be surprised if it was cavity searches next. The door staff are varied from ok to knuckle dragging and rude.. plus no making out or a door staff will interrupt you as I saw at Voodoorock, ffs!! The door staff and carry on getting in totally destroy your mood before you are even in the place frankly..

There has been photos of the massive queue around the venue for their recent voodoorock+slime joint night. Sure it may have attracted more folk but they are meant to be IN the venue not queuing OUTSIDE for an hour because the ar se hole door staff have an idiotic desire to pat down every single one of them and subject them to intrusive scanning and photography that is likely in conflict with ICO protocols etc etc but whatever.

I would still go to the Satanic flea market event there (see above) as its a LAM style day out and has even more shopping and very big alt crowd and the security was minimal (so far anyway.)
