About: Post-Hardcore Band hailing from Glasgow, Scotland
Biography Hailing from Glasgow, Scottish Six Piece Yashin have steadily assembled an army of fans across the UK and Europe with their distinctive sound and ability to capture live crowds.
Yashin may sound similar to many other bands in their post hardcore/ alternative genre. However, Yashin have many times been branded the best at what they do.
American vocalist Harry Radford and Scottish born Kevin Miles ...front the band with soaring catchy vocal melodies and a vast range of screams. March 2011 saw Yashin Co-Headline dates across the UK with American Pop-punk band ‘Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’. The majority of dates on this tour sold out, notably in Glasgow where Yashin had a Sellout. Yashin are also set to embark on some UK and European dates with US Giants ‘Papa Roach’ in July, with dates in London, Sheffield, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany.
Yashin completed ‘Get Loose!’ (their first music video) with Sitcom Soldiers and it went to Number One on Scuzz TV and featured on Kerrang and various other Music TV channels, the video remains popular on these channels. Yashin’s 2nd video ‘Friends in High Places’ music video soon followed, showing a heavier side to the band. This music video is still currently featured in the Top Ten on Scuzz TV.
Yashin’s most recent music video ‘Stand Up’ was released in February and the video portrayed a more commercial side of Yashin. ‘Stand Up’ made it on Kerrang TV’s ‘Video of the week’ and the Glasgow sixtet are to play a BBC Radio 1 session on May 9th 2011 in support of their single.
2011 is already shaping up to be a busy year for Yashin with many festival appearances and dates across the UK and Europe Including Download, SlamDunk and Pukkelpop (Belgium). The Glasgow boys have also begun writing for their 2nd album. Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them (Yashin’s debut album) has so far been a very successful independent release and Yashin were overwhelmed with the response for the debut record.
Yashin have been hailed as one of the UK’s best upcoming live alternative bands. Ensure you get along to see them at a venue near you!
