Anthem Metalcore band With humble beginnings in a small town in Kentucky, O’Kingdom has grown into a dominating force, commanding audiences to join them in their growing empire, while carving out their rightful place in the industry through relentless drive and determination.
Officially formed in 2010, O’Kingdom’s founding members Brian Judd, Ryan Lowe and Lucas Willet sought out music producer and ex-vocalist of “Before We Forget” Micah Powers to enlist his service for demoing out new material. Once pre-production in Kentucky was complete, it was apparent that the vocalist would have to provide the appropriate sound O’Kingdom had developed. A local artist and musician, Patrick Best had been a stand out of several candidates vying for position. Once Best auditioned for Powers, he was immediately asked to join. O’Kingdom then followed Powers to Columbus, Ohio and set up shop in Powers studio to track new songs that would eventually shape their sound.
This new project had quickly taken a life of it’s own, and with that the need to assemble the appropriate players to perform the sound live, and to continue the overall development of the band. Enter Miguel Rivera. Rivera had contacted the band through their myspace page, inquiring about their need for a second guitarist. Rivera auditioned for the band, and not only did he make a perfect fit, he also brought with him original material that would eventually become two of the songs for their first record.
With tracking nearly complete, O’Kingdom reach their first hurdle as a new band. Lowe, who is active duty in the military, is given orders to ship out overseas. O’Kingdom begins auditioning drummers through self-submitted videos on YouTube. Out of hundreds of submissions, Cody Ash, submits the most impressive video by far and is asked to audition. After the first two songs, Ash is asked to join the band on the spot.
With the lineup now complete, O’Kingdom release their first record “ADAMAH” in the fall of 2011 to wide audience and industry acceptance, and quickly gain a dedicated online following. Selling out venues locally and regionally, O’Kingdom hit the road to bring their signature-brand of positive metalcore to a wider audience, further expanding an already substantial, dedicated following, never forgetting where the heart of their music truly lies; with the hearts of those that carry their music home with them.
