Keith Flint's first solo project was called FLINT. The band had four members: Keith on vocals, Jim Davies (Prodigy live guitarist, ex-Pitchshifter) on guitar, Kieron Pepper (Prodigy live drummer, ex-RealTV, ex-Happy Gilmore) and Tony Howlett (co-wrote BGAT) on drums. Kieron played the bass on FLINT's recordings but moved behind the drums during their live shows and left the bass to Rob Holliday.
FLINT played several gigs – their first one at Scala in London on 11 June 2003. Their first limited single 'Asteroids' was released in May 2003 (on one-sided 10" pink vinyl, limited to 2,000 copies). Their first official single 'Aim 4' was released on 14 July 2003. The video for 'Aim 4' was directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The band was supposed to release their debut album 'Device #1', produced by Killing Joke's Youth, on 28 July 2003. Unfortunately, due to personal and record label related reasons, the band put a stop to the release and cancelled their last three gigs.
After quitting the label, band members started to work on new versions of all tracks and planned to re-produce the album and release it with new label. A new version of 'Asteroids' was played on Radio One. A new version of 'No Name No Number' produced by Serio Galoyan can also be found on the internet. U.N.C.L.E. remixed 'Aim 4' and Leeroy Thornhill (ex-Prodigy) also remixed two tracks.
The newly recorded album was never released and all band members ended up in different bands: Jim and Kieron played with Hyper and Victory Pill, and Keith pursued another solo project called Clever Brains Fryin'.
FLINT also remixed Marilyn Manson's single 'mOBSCENE'. Keith came up with his own vocals for the remix.
