A Los Angeles-based hard rock/metal troupe with a knack for pairing vintage Sunset Strip sleaze with theatrical, arena-ready industrial rock, Davey Suicide were founded in 2010 by frontman and namesake Davey Suicide alongside Drayven Davidson, Needlz, Niko Gemini, and Derek Obscura. The group introduced their self-described "gutter goth rock" to the masses in 2012 on their debut EP, Put Our Trust in Suicide, which was released via Cleveland, Ohio-based independent label Standby Records. They dropped their eponymous full-length debut the following year, with their sophomore outing, World Wide Suicide, arriving in 2014. They spent the next year and a half in a grueling legal battle with Standby over album rights and contractual breaches, resulting in the release of a tell-all video from Suicide himself that ultimately went viral. A settlement was reached in early 2016, and in August of that year the band issued the anthemic single "Rise Above" in anticipation of the release of their third studio long-player, Made from Fire, which arrived in 2017.
