In my late 30's I've fallen into somewhat of a habit in my lifestyle that could probably use some serious shaking up. After one of the worst years of my life I've decided those changes need to start with me so I've been working out daily again, reaching out to people I've long lost contact with, and am even looking for someone to settle down with. I'm still going to be picky with that last one because, as a child of a failed marriage, I wouldn't ever want a kiddo to feel as abandoned and unwanted as I did back in the day.
I have a pretty wide list of interests in life from Gaming to movies (horror specifically but all really) to long walks through parks/event spaces/museums.
I've nerdly lead 40 people through WoW raids, been a forever DM for nearly 30 years, and had chats long into the night about game theory/optimal gameplay loops.
I LOVE horror films. While I might not be up there with the best of them trivia wise I still devour any knowledge offered about the subject. I really enjoy most movie types because there's so much that goes into them. I love discussing nuance of how a shot is achieved and the purpose the director or cinematographer had in shooting it that specific way, knowledge I would never use practically but instead value just in knowing. If you want to go watch a movie, I'm the person that wants to go with.
I have never had any true artistic talent myself but I've always loved observing and trying to understand the work done by others. Art has felt like a place I'd never get to visit but that I could watch and appreciate from the outside. The closest I get is my interest in rope work which I think is beautiful, I look forward to learning more of it.
So, that's me. I should have filled this out a long time ago but I'm glad I finally did. This is hardly an exhaustive list of me, if you're curious about a thing/thought/opinion reach out and ask, I'm always up for a new conversation.
