What does it matter who I am? Does anny one ever realy read these? Is this what ultimately sways you? What's the point of me typing this?
If you are, in fact, reading this, then I am apparantly full of crap. I am a college student taking longer than I would . I write and take pictures for a living, with a resume that includes various newspapers and digital magazines, as well as my own photography business.
I am currently working on a novel about the death of the American Dream, which is based on true stories, as well as well as a sprinkling fantastical absurdities here and there. My characters experience the true issues of the times, working class joes with ability but not going to the right schools and knowing the right people, and take matters into their own hands.
Music means the world to me. There's God and next to him is the spiritual high of rock and roll. If my heart stops restart it with the Jungleland saxophone solo by the Big Man Clarence Clemens. I love local shows. Classic, Irish, Blues, and Punk.
The life I want isn't the American Dream that's been sold to us in its cookie cutter format. I don't want to have a mortgage or a white picket fence, I don't want my idea of an exciting weekend to be a night out at an expensive restaurant, I don't want to be part of the neighborhood watch.
I want to write the next great novel, I want to travel constantly, with never enough time to tire of my surroundings, I want to expose the flaws in the education system, speak for children who are victim to our shameless and disgustingly lacking foster systems, to stick it to the greedy swine who went back on contacts they gave to soldiers. I want my soul mate to have the same values as me, be as angry, as bitter, and passionate as me.
She has to like music and literature, and not the stuff that's marketed by by soulless record company executives and their talentless, arrogant pons. I want to go howling across interstates at top speeds with no destination or reason, just a blind trust that whatever we find will will be different, and different is good, because what has the same ever done for us?
