Amaranthe is a Swedish-Danish heavy metal band whose present line up includes: Elize Ryd (female clean vocalist), Nils Molin (male clean vocalist), Henrik 'GG6' Englund Wilhelmsson (Male harsh vocalist), Olof Mörck (Guitarist), Johan Andreassen (Bassist) and Morten Løwe Sørensen (Drummer). Previous members include Andreas Solveström (harsh male vocalist) and Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg (Male clean vocalist).
Amaranthe formed in 2008 in Gothenberg, Sweden under the name 'Avalanche', which got changed to Amaranthe due to copyright in 2009 and have released six studio albums; 'Amaranthe' (2011), 'The Nexus' (2013) and was the only two albums to feature Andreas, who left the band in 2013. 'Massive Addictive' was released in 2013 and was the first album to feature Henrik.
Their 2016 album, 'Maximalism' would be the final album to feature Jake, who took a break in 2016 only to depart permanently in 2017. After being replaced by Nils, their fifth studio album, 'Helix', was released in 2018, followed by their current album 'Manifest', released on October 2nd, 2020.
Amaranthe have also covered many songs including Powerwolf's 'Army of the Night' in 2018 and Sabaton's '82nd all the way in 2020.
